The Russian question has become an important factor in domestic politics in a number of European countries, experts from the Progressive Policy Foundation came to this conclusion. “If in previous decades Russia could claim to be the flagship of the conservative international for many forces in Europe, then after February 24 this was hardly possible. But, despite the announced “cancellation” of Russia and its culture, we see that the share of Russia in the domestic politics of Europe has grown,” says Oleg Bondarenko, director of the fund.
According to the expert, against the backdrop of the “cancellation” of Russian culture, it is noticeable how interest in the country is renewed from the point of view of its study: a similar situation with the USSR, when all world universities had a department of Russian studies.
