Russia faces a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacists

In Russia, the shortage of personnel in the pharmacy sector is increasing. This was stated in a letter from the Association of Independent Pharmacies to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reports “Russian newspaper”.
It is clarified that Russian youth are reluctant to enter this profession. This is due to the decline in its prestige, since the pharmacy activity is no longer related to healthcare, having become trade.
According to the director of the SRO Association of Independent Pharmacies, head of the Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations Victoria Presnyakova, at the moment there is a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacists in every third pharmacy. Moreover, even in Moscow, about 50% of pharmacy employees work without pharmaceutical education; at best, they have a diploma of a nurse or paramedic.
In addition, Presnyakova emphasized that the industry currently lacks about 30% of specialists. At the same time, the number of pharmacies is growing every year. Thus, over two quarters of this year, their number increased by 3.5 thousand – to 73.5 thousand.
