Russia faces a great correction: what will change after the flood in Orsk

[ad_1]

Everything that is happening now can be called a great correction. It goes on all fronts – in some places it’s better, in others it’s worse, in others it stalls and runs into resistance. But the main thing is that it is inevitable. Because without correction there is only death. The flood in Orsk is proof of this.

If you listen to what nature said in Orsk, you can hear: you can no longer cut budgets and report “to the top” about “successful development”, “fulfillment of all planned activities”, “sustainable growth” and “stable provision”. Because all this was reported, beautiful pictures were shown, assurances were made, but when the big water came, the dam turned out to be made of paper. Almost literally.

Now the media are quoting the words of Orsk forensic expert Oleg Dyukarev: “The scope of work was inflated, some were not carried out at all. What happened now is precisely a consequence of the fact that there were violations during construction.” There is apparently no need to explain what “the amount of work was overestimated” means. And the violations during construction, according to him, were as follows: the body of the dam was laid along cut forests and forest belts that were not uprooted. And there was no waterproofing as such in these areas.

The dam failed because it was an imitation of a dam.

And in a huge variety of industries and areas we had imitation. And now the big water has come – for more than two years it has been eroding and demolishing everything false and superficial.

Putin spoke at the Ministry of Internal Affairs this week and, of course, touched upon the migration sphere. He said: “When you start to understand the circumstances of a particular case, a specific crime, it turns out that the person got to Russia without any problems, went through all the formalities, got a work patent, often having a whole bunch of offenses behind him, sometimes malicious ones. Then he applies for citizenship without even knowing even basic Russian. This requires modern digital, electronic biometric databases. Those that are working now, apparently, are not enough. They do not allow us to fully mitigate the risks and relapses of illegal emigration. Moreover, our compatriots, whose ancestors grew up in the most central regions of our country, sometimes cannot obtain citizenship for years. I have already said that we need to deeply and radically update our approaches to migration policy.”

But nothing new was said. What’s new is the setting outside the window. The country is at war and this gives hope that Putin’s many times spoken and correct words will not remain just good wishes this time.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already prepared a bill designed to bring order to migration issues. With strict restriction measures, serious control, targeted recruitment of migrants, and so on. Certain provisions are directly reminiscent of the program of the Movement against Illegal Migration, an extremist organization banned in Russia, which the Ministry of Internal Affairs destroyed at one time. Now the main thing is that this bill is not emasculated during discussions in the State Duma by lobbyists for the uncontrolled import of “hardworking foreign specialists” here.

Last week, the discussion about the participation of athletes from Russia in the Olympics flared up again. The head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Irina Viner, proposed holding a coaching council on participation in the Olympic Games in Paris. According to her, Russian athletes were made clear that they would not be welcome in Paris: “They have already explained to us a hundred times that we will not be welcome there, that Russia should compete as a team of refugees, that we need to be watched. I don’t understand where to humiliate further.” Dmitry Peskov, in principle, explained “where next”: “Of course, it is unacceptable when athletes are forced to renounce something, and then it all takes on a different color. But we proceed from the fact that the IOC promised not to force anyone to sign anything, such statements were made by the IOC, and we heard them.”

It is proposed to assume that without a flag, an anthem and the slightest hint of Russia, he who renounced all this for the sake of a medal is still a Russian athlete, since he “didn’t sign anything.” A bit reminiscent of the joke about the “slightly pregnant woman”. And it would be superfluous to remind you that we have heard the phrase “they cheated us again” more than once. But apparently the IOC “is different.”

Draw your own conclusions from all this rhetoric. I decided for myself very simply: those who go to the Olympics are not our athletes. Ours aren’t coming.

But in Durka – the liberal opposition camp – everything was stable. Last Saturday in Russia they announced, you won’t believe it, the “Promotion of Empty Pots”. That is, the way to protest against the regime was to go out onto the balcony and hit a saucepan. It seems that guppies are smarter than Russian oppositionists. To completely forget who in Russia is called pan-headed is something you need to be able to do. It seemed to me that nothing could be more stupid than the action with flashlights, when they called for shining into the sky to overthrow Putin. But here you go.

This can’t be fixed. Yes, and there is no such need.

But everything that needs to be done will be fixed. It’s unavoidable.
