Russia extradites seven extremist suspects to Belarus

Moscow and Minsk held an exchange of citizens suspected of extremism. Russia extradited to Belarus seven persons involved in such crimes, and the neighboring republic, for its part, sent five similar cases against citizens of the Russian Federation to our country. This was announced on Friday, October 21, by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Shved.
He added that there was not a single case of Russian colleagues not promptly considering the requests of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus for the extradition of persons involved in extremism and terrorism. “In the second half of 2021 – the current year, seven persons, citizens of Belarus, were extradited from Russia from Russia, who are accused of committing crimes related to extremism,” Shved told reporters before a meeting of the joint board of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the two states. Criminal cases against Russian citizens who committed extremist crimes on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, primarily in 2020, were sent to the relevant state bodies of our country. According to Andrei Shved, a total of five such cases were transferred.
