State Duma deputy Sheremet urged to request extradition of Azov militants from Turkey
Member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Mikhail Sheremet expressed the view that Russia should apply to Turkey with a request to extradite the fighters of the Azov battalion (recognized as a terrorist and extremist organization, banned in the Russian Federation), reports URA.RU.
Sheremet recalled that Russia and Turkey have signed an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and the extradition of criminals. The extradition of the Azov militants who committed crimes against Russian-speaking citizens in Russia and Ukraine should be requested within the framework of this agreement, the deputy believes.
Türkiye “subjects the entire international community to a terrorist threat,” Sheremet said.
