Russia confirms participation in the ISS after 2024

All countries participating in the International Space Station (ISS) project, including Russia, will continue to operate in orbit after 2024. About this says in a statement from the ISS Multilateral Coordinating Council.
“Each of the partners confirmed that they will continue to work within their respective government processes to extend the use of the station beyond 2024,” the statement said.
It is noted that on July 29 a meeting of the council was held. At the meeting, representatives of NASA, Roscosmos, the Canadian Space Agency, the European Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency discussed, among other things, the use of the space station, as well as plans to transfer to low Earth orbit after the end of the operation of the ISS.
At the end of July, the head of Roskosmos, Yuri Borisov, announced that Russia would withdraw from the ISS project after 2024 and begin to form its own orbital station. Sergei Krikalev, executive director of the corporation for manned programs, specified that this could happen in 2025, 2028, and 2030. The timing will depend on the technical condition of the station.
NASA also noted that they had not received official notification from Russia about plans to withdraw from the ISS program. NASA space operations chief Kathy Lueders later told Reuters that Russia intends to stay on the ISS until at least 2028.
