Russia, China and South Africa begin joint naval exercises

Alexei Nikolsky From 17 to 26 February, in the coastal regions of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, naval exercises of Russia, China and South Africa will be held under the code name Mosi (translated from the Tsawana language – “smoke”). For maneuvers, an area in the Indian Ocean from the city of Durban to Richards Bay with a length of 87 nautical miles (160 km) has been allocated. The exercises will involve six ships and vessels – three Chinese, two Russian and one South African.

As TASS reported, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov, armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles, will take part in the exercises from Russia, accompanied by a tanker of the Russian Navy. On February 14, the frigate moored in the port of the South African city of Cape Town.
