Russia, Iran and China are holding naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman from March 15 to 19. The Ministry of Defense of the People’s Republic of China was the first to report this on WeChat, later the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the information in its Telegram channel.
According to the Russian ministry, on March 15, in the waters of the Arabian Sea near the Iranian port of Chahbahar (located on the shores of the Gulf of Oman), the trilateral exercise “Marine Security Belt – 2023” was launched. The Russian side is represented by a detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet – the frigate “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” and the medium sea tanker “Kama”.
