According to a RIA Novosti source in the defense sector, a new reconnaissance vehicle developed for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) has begun to undergo preliminary tests.
The product, which at the Army-2022 forum was designated as “Product 3R19U07”, is built on the chassis of the Typhoon-VDV armored car and is designed to detect and automatically track targets, as well as to guide high-precision weapons. An order for the development of this machine was received in 2021 from the MTR.
At the moment, the product is at the stage of climatic tests, during which the performance of components and assemblies is checked at extreme temperature values, humidity and precipitation. The reconnaissance and vehicle detection complex has a color television channel, infrared channels of the near, medium and long ranges, as well as an optical detection channel that allows you to detect and determine the coordinates of enemy optics, up to the sights of sniper rifles. The complex is also capable of identifying a person at a distance of up to 18 km.
The source emphasized that the machine was created taking into account modern technologies, and the reconnaissance and detection complex was developed on the basis of solutions that were used in the creation and operation of the Ironia wearable reconnaissance and target designation complex.
