“The parties appeal to all states with an appeal in the interests of general well-being to strengthen dialogue and mutual trust, deepen mutual understanding, uphold such universal values as peace, development, equality, justice, democracy and freedom,” the message says.
The text of the statement also says that the Russian Federation and China consider it necessary to comply with the goals and principles of international law and the UN Charter.
The Russian and Chinese sides also noted that they oppose unilateral sanctions, as well as “abuse of export control policies.” The PRC and the Russian Federation intend to oppose “attempts to replace the formats and mechanisms generally accepted and consistent with international law with certain rules developed in a “close circle” by individual countries or blocs of countries.”
On March 20, Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow for a three-day visit. After landing in Russia, he expressed confidence that his working trip would be fruitful and “give new impetus to the healthy and stable development” of relations between the two countries. During the meeting, a number of documents were signed that relate to economic cooperation and deepening partnership.
Former Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov admittedthat Russian President Vladimir Putin may visit China this year.
