Russia and Belarus did not receive the right to broadcast the Olympic Games in 2026-2032

Broadcast rights for the four Olympic Games in Europe between 2026-2032 have been awarded to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and multinational conglomerate Warner Bros. discovery. Russia and Belarus have not received permission to broadcast the games. This was reported Interfax with reference to the statement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

“After the IOC announced a competitive tender, the EBU and Warner Bros. Discovery submitted a joint bid to acquire all media rights in 49 countries and territories in Europe for the XXV Winter Olympic Games Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo 2026, XXXIV Summer Games Los Angeles 2028, XXVI Winter Olympic Games 2030 and the XXXV Summer Games Brisbane 2032, as well as for the Youth Olympic Games during this period,” the statement said.

According to the announcement, the Olympic Games will be broadcast to 49 countries and territories. The published list does not include Russia and Belarus. Interfax does not provide a complete list of countries where broadcasting is allowed.
