The transfer of MiG-29 aircraft by Slovakia to Ukraine is a gross violation of international obligations for the re-export of Russian-made weapons, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) reports.

“We are talking about another gross violation by the Slovak side of its international obligations on the re-export of Russian-made weapons and military equipment,” the FSMTC stressed (quote according to TASS).

The report also says that these actions are regarded as an “unfriendly act” against Russia, aimed at destroying bilateral relations.

The CTK news agency reported yesterday that Slovakia handed over to Ukraine the first four of 13 MiG-29 fighter jets withdrawn from the national air force last year. The process of handing over the fighters will take several weeks.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stressed that the supply of aircraft to Ukraine will not affect the course of the special operation, and all military equipment will be destroyed. Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced plans to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. He stressed that the equipment is in full working order.
