Ambassador Kelin: Britain will not refuse to supply Ukrainian Armed Forces with depleted uranium shells

London will not refuse to supply Kyiv with shells with depleted uranium, said Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin.

“After the announcement of the use of low-enriched uranium projectiles, it will be officially difficult, if not impossible, for the British to get off this path,” the ambassador said.

He added that such shells are used in tanks and Leopard. This is standard NATO practice, and there are no considerations that would force it to be abandoned, Kälin said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that if the collective West begins to use weapons with a nuclear component, then Russia will be forced to respond.

The plans to transfer depleted uranium shells to Ukraine were previously announced by British Deputy Secretary of Defense Annabelle Goldie.
