The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) will not be reinstated until all the conditions of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) are fully met. This was stated re-elected today, November 18, WADA President Vitold Banka at a meeting of the organization’s council.
“WADA will check every condition for the restoration of RUSADA. WADA is not naive, there is no direct faith in the Russian side. The results of the RUSADA audit will be analyzed. The 2021 Code has not been fully integrated into Russian laws,” said Mr. Banka (quoted from “RIA News”).
In December 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) stripped RUSADA of the status of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code. The restrictions will remain in effect until December 16, 2022. CAS confirmed the legality of WADA applying a package of severe sanctions against Russia in connection with the discovered manipulations with the database of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory.
