On June 3, at the Tuymaada stadium, about 450 athletics enthusiasts took part in the Running Lena eco-race, which is being held for the ninth time. This was a record figure for the entire duration of the competition, YSIA reports.
As the organizer of the race, entrepreneur and eco-activist Irina Mateeva said, the purpose of this event is to instill a healthy and active lifestyle in people of all walks of life and of all ages. The race is also notable for the fact that for the first time this year, runners used electronic chips, with which the time and distance of the run were recorded automatically. Mothers with prams ran at the competitions, as well as with children under five years old. Children in different age categories took part. Due to the large number of participants, the women’s races were divided by age and stages.
For the first time, a men’s 5 km race was included in the program.
The event included not only running disciplines, but also master classes in yoga and other activities. Various schools on a healthy lifestyle were gathered at one site.
The participants of the eco-run appreciated the organization of the event and were happy to receive exclusive medals, which were ordered specifically for this competition.
