Runners from all over Russia took part in the half marathon in Pyatigorsk

All race routes were laid in the picturesque resort area, for the first time at the half marathon the Cup of the Corporate League was played.

This weekend in the capital of the North Caucasus is marked by sports: runners from 145 cities of Russia take part in the Pyatigorsk half marathon. The resort city has become the capital of running for the seventh consecutive spring, during which time the half marathon has formed the backbone of regular participants, which annually “grows” with newcomers.

“Over the years, the half-marathon had to be held in any weather – the sun was hot and the rain was pouring down on us. But today – the optimal weather for runners, not hot and comfortable. So good luck to everyone and light legs!” – Mikhail Shorov, head of the KAVKAZ.RUN running movement, admonished the athletes.

The half marathon was held in the format of a two-day sports festival. On the eve of the children’s competitions. Young athletes overcame a distance of 600 meters and demonstrated excellent physical fitness.

The test for the most enduring was the vertical run “Mashuk 993”. It was with him that the adult part of the program began. Athletes started in the area of ​​the Operetta Theatre. The finish line was at the top of Mount Mashuk. About 100 runners covered a distance of 5.5 km with a climb of 500 meters.

The second day of the half marathon is the main and most eventful. The program includes distances of 2.5 km, 5 km, as well as 10 km and 21 km. Participants of the Nordic Walking distance also came to the start.

The start-finish town unfolded in the Tsvetnik park. All race routes were laid in a picturesque resort area. For the first time this year, the Cup of the Corporate League was played, where the sum of points for the 10 best results of the team members was taken into account.

All half marathon finishers received exclusive medals. The winners and prize-winners took their well-deserved awards.
