Rugby players “Kuban” climbed to third place in the championship of Russia

Krasnodar “Kuban” became the bronze medalist of the 4th round of the Russian rugby-7 championship among women’s teams. The competitions were held in Sochi at the Yug Sport stadium. This allowed the team of Maxim Amonov to rise to third place and in the overall standings.
10 teams competed in Sochi, divided into 2 fives in the group stage. The tournament started for the “Kuban” is not easy. In the opening game Krasnodar lost to Zilant Kazan with a score of 10:12. Then they outplayed compatriots from Ust-Labinsk “Agrat”, who performed out of competition – 31:12. Then Kuban lost to one of the tournament favorites VVA-Podmoskovye (17:24) and defeated Rostov-DSTU (29:5). Thus, the southerners advanced to the semi-finals from second place.
There, Kuban lost heavily to the reigning champions of the country and the current leader of the tournament, CSKA Moscow – 12:31. In the fight for the 3rd place Krasnodar team confidently coped with Vityaz Perm 29:0. In the final, CSKA beat VVA-Podmoskovye with a score of 34:12.
In the overall standings, Kuban moved up to 3rd place (60 points). Ahead of CSKA (80) and VVA-Podmoskovye (72). Krasnoyarsk Yenisei-STM, which took only 5th place in Sochi, dropped to 4th position (58).
Until the end of the championship, it is planned to hold 3 more rounds.
