Rugby club “Khimik” will not take part in the Cup of Russia

The Russian Rugby Federation has published a press release on the Russian Cup 2023 on its official resources. The 8 best teams of the previous season will take part in the Russian Rugby Cup 2023. The teams were divided into two baskets according to the sports principle, however, the place in the National Cup was not enough for RK “Khimik” from Dzerzhinsk.
The team from Dzerzhinsk became ninth in the last season of the PARI Russian Rugby Championship, finishing last. Thus, RK “Khimik” will not take part in the Russian Rugby Cup in 2023. The team from Dzerzhinsk will get more time to prepare for the championship matches, where Khimik aims to win the first victory in the Russian rugby elite and put debut points into their piggy bank.
In 2022, Khimik participated in the Russian Rugby Cup. The black-greens met in the quarter-final match against Lokomotiv Penza and lost big.
