Rugby club “Khimik” will continue to play in the elite division of the Russian Championship

On June 4, the Khimik rugby club from Dzerzhinsk will play the final match of the regular part of the PARI Russian Rugby Championship season 2022-2023. This season was the debut season for RK “Khimik” in the elite division of the national championship, last year the black-and-greens played in the Major League and became the silver medalists of the “Final Four” held in Dzerzhinsk.
As expected, RK “Khimik” could not show a good result in the debut season at the new level, taking the last place in the regular season. The management of the team connects the negative result with the lack of teamwork and the line-up, which could not oppose anything to the strongest teams in the elite division.
The unsatisfactory result at the end of the 2022-2023 season did not affect the desire of the management to continue playing in the elite division of the Russian Championship. In an interview with the correspondent of MK in Nizhny Novgorod, Ivan Rumyantsev, General Director of Khimik RK, confirmed that the team from Dzerzhinsk will continue to play in the elite division of Russian rugby in the 2023-2024 season.
