Andrey Rublev lost to Finn Emil Ruusuvuori in the second round match of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters tournament in Cincinnati. The game lasted 3 hours 16 minutes and ended with the score 7:6 (12:10), 5:7, 7:6 (7:3) in favor of the Finn.

For the second time in a row, Rublev has failed to qualify for the third round of the Masters series tournament. On August 9, the Russian also lost to the American Mackenzie McDonald at a tournament in Toronto.
