RT: Searches are taking place in Moscow at the homes of members of Ilya Ponomarev’s structure

According to the RT television channel, searches are being conducted in Moscow and a number of other regions of Russia of persons associated with former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev, who fled the Russian Federation (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and arrested in absentia in the case of spreading fakes about the army and organizing terrorist activities).

The report says that early in the morning on Thursday, January 18, law enforcement officers came to the residential addresses of some former municipal deputies, including those who are supporters of the Yabloko party. They are checked for participation in the so-called “Congress of People’s Deputies” (a non-governmental organization recognized by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation as undesirable). The issue of criminal prosecution is now being decided.

Let us recall that the NGO “Congress of People’s Deputies” was created in Poland in 2022 by ex-State Duma deputies Ilya Ponomarev, as well as Gennady Gudkov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation). In addition, former lawyer Mark Feigin (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia and put on the wanted list) was named among the founders of the organization.
