RSU: almost half of Russians are engaged in self-education on a regular basis

48% of the Russians surveyed are engaged in self-education on a regular basis. Such data of a joint study of the Russian School of Management (RSU) and YouDo were presented by the director of RSU Anastasia Borovskaya at conferencesorganized by Kommersant Publishing House. According to the study, more than half of respondents (51%) consider self-education a way to realize and discover new talents in themselves, almost a third (29%) consider it a necessity for professional growth. 20% of respondents are engaged in self-education as a hobby.

“Companies are starting to overhaul their training systems. There are three main segments here. First of all, much attention is paid to self-education. Here they say that we do not teach you, but we create an environment for you to learn. Knowledge bases are being created – today they are full-fledged video content, affiliate and language programs. The second block is internal training. Due to internal trainers, corporate training departments, internal communication and project work are built. And the third segment is the involvement of external experts in training programs,” said Ms. Borovskaya.

According to the results of the study, specialists working in construction, industry and IT are most often engaged in self-education. Among the most popular areas for self-education in 2023, respondents identified design, management, business, foreign languages ​​and programming.

According to the survey, they are ready to spend up to 10,000 rubles annually on their education. 19% of respondents, from 10 to 50 thousand – 34%, from 50 to 100 thousand – 13%, from 100 to 250 thousand – 11%, from 250 to 500 thousand – 7%, from 500 thousand to a million rub. – 4%.

The study was conducted by the YouDo marketplace and the Russian School of Management in March 2023. 9,723 people took part in the survey.
