In the home game, May 20, Rostov-Don outplayed Zvezda from Zvenigorod with a score of 40:32 and advanced to the final due to the best difference between goals scored and conceded.
The first semi-final match of Rostovites played on May 16 at a party. Then they lost by five goals. And this meant that the Rostov girls had to win at home with a difference of more than five goals.
The first half was given to the hosts hard. Rostovites could not get ahead in any way and only in the end they created a slight advantage. The teams went to the break with the score 20:18.
Guests adequately kept and most of the second half. No matter how hard the housewives tried, they could not get ahead by more than 3-4 years.
Everything was decided by the ending. Either the Zvezda handball players were too tired and “fell down”, or the girls from Rostov-Don turned on all the reserves. But in the last minutes, the Don handball players were able to achieve a comfortable advantage. The final whistle fixed not just a victory, but also the desired score – 40:32.
Ekaterina Zelenkova (10 goals), Yaroslava Frolova (7) and Kristina Kozhokar (6) became the most productive among the Rostovites. And the hosts’ goalkeeper Anastasia Kazmenko was recognized as the best player of the match. She saved 47% of all shots on goal.
Now Rostovites are facing the final games against CSKA.
