A traffic jam on the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region, formed due to snowfall, has decreased from 60 to 39 km, said the governor of the region, Vasily Golubev. According to him, 20 people were evacuated. How many cars and citizens are in traffic, he did not specify.
The governor said that eight mobile heating and food points, seven temporary accommodation points have been deployed. In addition, seven food delivery routes have been organized. “181 people and 111 pieces of equipment are involved in the liquidation of emergency situations … I still receive information every hour, we continue to work,” he wrote in Telegram.
Yesterday, March 30, Mr. Golubev introduced state of emergency in the city of Shakhty and four districts of the region. The reason was a heavy snowfall, due to which had to block 76 km of the M-4 Don highway. There were so dense traffic jams that the road services have to cut the fence in the middle of the lane. Telegram channel Shot reported that about 600 trucks and 1,000 cars were stuck in traffic.
