Deputy General Director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov said that the enterprises of the state corporation are creating a modernized version of the wheeled 152-millimeter self-propelled artillery mount (SAU) Malva. According to him, the new installation will be able to withstand the howitzers used by the armed forces of Ukraine. Mr. Artyakov noted that “Malva” will begin to enter the troops in the coming months.

“Now a modernized version of the Malva is being created with an increased firing range. Believe me, we will have something to oppose to the long-range western howitzers, which are now being supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Artyakov said in an interview. “RIA News”.

According to the deputy general director of Rostec, the basic version of Malva has already passed state tests. “Now its serial production has been launched. The first samples will be delivered to the troops in the coming months, ”he added.

Vladimir Artyakov said that a distinctive feature of the Malva howitzer is high mobility due to the wheeled chassis. In addition, the self-propelled artillery mount includes an automated calculation of firing parameters for all types of ammunition. There is also a simultaneous fire raid mode, which guarantees the simultaneous achievement of the target by several shells fired one after another.

“Malva”, a 152-millimeter self-propelled artillery gun 2S43, was created on the basis of a special chassis BAZ-6610-027 “Voshchina”. It is a four-axle all-wheel drive vehicle with a high payload. The installation is designed to destroy command posts, defensive structures, artillery, rocket and mortar batteries, air defense systems.
