The new product, according to the industrial director of the arms, ammunition and special chemicals cluster of the state corporation, is not inferior in its characteristics to traditional gunpowder made from cotton raw materials.
“Our team of specialists is constantly improving the technological process. Last year we began the industrial production of gunpowder from alternative materials – wood and flax cellulose. The results of testing and firing showed that the new gunpowder is not inferior in quality to traditional gunpowder. There is no shortage of wood raw materials in Russia,” – he noted in an interview with TASS.
