The Rostec State Corporation announced the transfer of a batch of 120-mm Phlox self-propelled artillery guns to military personnel. According to the corporation’s press release, the Phlox self-propelled gun is designed to equip artillery batteries and is both a cannon and a mortar.

“The gun is unified in terms of the ammunition used with the Vienna-type guns, which makes it possible to use ammunition of increased power and increase the firing range,” Rostec said in a statement.

According to Rostec industrial director Bekhan Ozdoev, the gun can fire both shells and mines without slowing down. “’Phlox’ has improved mobility, security, it rationally balances manual and automated operations, and makes the work of the crew as easy as possible,” he said. Mr. Ozdoev noted that the weapon is in demand among the troops because of its mobility and “relatively low price.”
