Rosstat in May recorded another update of the historical minimum for unemployment – 3.2%

The unemployment rate in Russia in May amounted to 3.2%, having updated the historical minimum, follows from data Rosstat. The number of unemployed amounted to 2.406 million, which is 60 thousand less than in April.
By the end of May, according to Rosstat, 0.6 million unemployed citizens were registered with the employment service, of which 0.5 million had the status of unemployed, including 0.4 million receiving unemployment benefits.
Among the employed, the share of women in May was 48.7%. The employment rate of rural residents was 55.2%, urban residents – 62.3%.
The previous minimum unemployment rate was recorded in April – 3.3% (2.466 million people). Prior to this, a historical minimum was recorded in January and February 2023.
