The richest 10% of Russians account for 30% of the country’s total income, while the poorest 10% account for just 2%. Such data leads RBC with reference to Rosstat data for the second quarter.
It is noted that the agency, when preparing statistics, applied a new methodology for determining inequality in the country, using decile (10 percent) groups.
Previously, the data was disclosed for the year, not for the quarter, and was formed in groups of 20 percent.
It is noted that in the period from April to June, the average income of the wealthiest Russians reached 132.92 thousand rubles. In real terms, the decline was 2.1 percent.
This figure is 15 times higher than the average income of ten percent of the poorest Russians, which is 8.86 thousand rubles.
