Rosselkhoznadzor expressed concern about the possible risks of avian influenza in the Kherson region, as the Ukrainian side hides information about the real situation in the colonies of gulls and complicates the work of Russian specialists, the department reports. According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the Ukrainian authorities interfere with the work of veterinary specialists using deliberate actions. Experts are forced to carry out veterinary manipulations on living and dead animals under fire and even under bullets and kamikaze drones, which leads to shrapnel wounds to several employees of the veterinary service.
The agency is concerned that the current working conditions may adversely affect the epizootic situation in the Kherson region, especially with the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza in gull colonies, while the Ukrainian side hides the real situation. In the flood zone in the Kherson region, teams of veterinary specialists sent from Russia are working to vaccinate farm and domestic animals against rabies, anthrax and leptospirosis.
However, due to the current situation, the prevention of the spread of dangerous infections is a top priority, including the disposal of the remains of dead animals in specially equipped places.
