Rospotrebnadzor checked the quality of water in the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea
Water quality in the Black Sea off the western coast of Crimea is normal. These are the results of the samples taken by Rospotrebnadzor. This was stated by the head of the interregional department of the department for the Crimea and Sevastopol Natalia Penkovskaya. Monitoring in this part of the water area was intensified after the emergency at the Kakhovskaya HPP. The water flooded the settlements in the riverbed of the Dnieper and, theoretically, could have received severe biological pollution.
Samples in the Chernomorsky and Razdolnensky regions, as well as in Evpatoria, are taken more often. On the rest of the coast, monitoring of water quality remains the same. Everywhere indicators are normal.
On the night of June 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a series of attacks on the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. As a result, the building was partially destroyed. There was an uncontrolled release of water. Settlements downstream of the Dnieper were flooded. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident a barbaric act of the Kyiv regime. He noted that the actions of Kyiv led to a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe.
