There are no laboratory-confirmed cases of mycoplasma pneumonia registered in Dagestan. A message about this was distributed today, December 7, by the Republican Administration Rospotrebnadzor. Previously, the press service of the federal department reportedthat isolated cases of this infection have been recorded in Dagestan.
“Cases of community-acquired pneumonia are being registered in the Republic of Dagestan. In some cases, based on clinical symptoms and data from serological tests for antibodies, patients are diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia of mycoplasma etiology. At the same time, no laboratory-confirmed cases of mycoplasma pneumonia have been registered in the republic as of December 7, 2023,” says a message on the department’s Telegram channel.
The report clarifies that pneumonia caused by mycoplasma most often has mild symptoms and a protracted course. In the etiological structure of pneumonia, mycoplasma is a routine pathogen and is registered annually in the country.
