Rosobrnadzor may extend the moratorium on the Unified State Exam in new regions until 2028

The head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, said that the moratorium on the mandatory passing of the Unified State Exam for graduates from the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions could be extended for another two years. According to him, the issue of extension will be decided in 2026.
“All structures, including the State Duma, supported this transition until 2026. We will look at the results in 2026, if necessary, this moratorium can be extended for another couple of years. It’s not the children’s fault that they studied according to different standards,” said Anzor Murzaev at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education.
Now eleventh graders from the annexed regions receive a certificate based on the results of an interim assessment. They can take exams in the form of the Unified State Exam if they wish. The final essay (presentation) can also be submitted at will. Graduates who have not passed the Unified State Exam must take entrance exams set by the university to enter Russian universities.
