The press service of Rosobrnadzor reported that in Russia there are no plans to change the model of transition to the 10th grade and institutions of secondary vocational education. Earlier about plans to change the current system said Head of the department Anzor Muzaev.
“So far no action has been taken in this direction. A. A. Muzaev’s private opinion is that the system needs to be tightened up,” reported TASS in the press service of Rosobrnadzor.
On October 18, Anzor Muzaev said that the current model of transition to the 10th grade and colleges through a “certificate competition” does not meet modern requirements. He noted that the system will remain in place next academic year, but “in the near future” it will most likely be changed.
To enter college you need a certificate of completion of 9th or 11th grade. OGE or Unified State Exam results are not required. Mr. Muzaev noted that 9th grade students are often given certificates so that they “don’t spoil the picture” in 10th grade and go to college.
