Luna-25 was created at the Lavochkin Research and Production Association (part of the state corporation Roscosmos). This is Russia’s first lunar mission. The previous one, Luna-24, was launched in 1976 in the USSR.
The press service noted that now the specialists of the station management group are analyzing the situation.
“Luna-25” started August 11 from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region, its landing is expected on August 21. August 17 Roscosmos informedthat “Luna-25” went into lunar orbit and photographed the surface of the Earth’s satellite. August 19 state corporation made public the first results of scientific research of the station.
