The fireproof parts of the Progress MS-21 spacecraft were successfully sunk in the Pacific Ocean. This was stated by representatives of Roskosmos. The wreckage sank to the bottom in an unnavigable part of the ocean.
Recall that the spacecraft was undocked from the ISS on February 18. After that, the cosmonauts turned the Progress in camera mode to film its entire surface. The information was sent to the MCC specialists.
After careful analysis of the video, the decision was made to scuttle the ship. It is assumed that the spent equipment and cargo burned up in the dense layers of the atmosphere.
On February 11, the circuit was depressurized at Progress. For some reason, there was a coolant leak from the thermal control system. The ship was first isolated from the ISS. And then decided to undock.
This “truck” arrived at the ISS in October last year. He brought 2.5 tons of cargo. Including gifts for astronauts for the new year from relatives.
