Roskosmos announced the undocking of the damaged Progress MS-21 on February 18

On the morning of February 18, the Progress MS-21 spacecraft, the depressurization of which became known on February 11, will be undocked from the International Space Station (ISS). About it informs press service of Roskosmos.

The undocking is scheduled for 05.26 Moscow time, at 07.03 the engines will be turned on to de-orbit the spacecraft, the report says. The broadcast will be available on Roscosmos social networks.

It is noted that such a decision was made by RSC Energia after a detailed study of the damage images of the thermal control system radiator on the outer surface of Progress MS-21. After undocking, the astronauts manually deploy the spacecraft to photograph the alleged damage site, Roskosmos said.

On February 11, the press service of the state corporation reported that the Progress MS-21 was depressurized, and the coolant leaked from the thermal control system. The ship was supposed to complete its flight to the ISS this week. At Roskosmos did not rule outthat the cause of depressurization could be a micrometeorite hit, like this happened in the case of Soyuz MS-22 in December 2022.

The state corporation emphasized that the temperature regime and pressure on board the ISS are normal, nothing threatens the life and health of the crew.
