Roskomnadzor will check reports about a possible data leakage of customers of the SberSpasibo bonus program. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the department.
“Roskomnadzor will check information about a possible leak of personal data of users of the Thank You bonus program from Sberbank,” the message says.
Earlier today, the Information Leaks Telegram channel reported that the data of users of the SberSpasibo program was allegedly publicly available on the network. Presumably, the attacker received the information from the bank’s mobile application. It is alleged that 47.9 million phone numbers, 3.3 million email addresses, dates of birth of customers and other data were leaked to the network.
According to the law on personal data, the company must report the leak to Roskomnadzor within 24 hours. The department noted that so far no such notification about Sberbank has been received.
Previously, information about the hacking of Sberbank systems and the leak appeared at the end of February. The bank denied these reports, explaining that the data posted on the shadow resources related to the bank’s clients is a compilation of various databases obtained due to hacking of the subsidiaries of the credit institution.
