The head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov said during a speech at the Spektr forum that the duration of DDoS attacks on significant Russian resources has increased markedly since the beginning of the CBO and reached an average of 57 hours by May with 12 minutes in February-March 2021. Lipov also noted that the number of dangerous attacks during this period increased by 4.5 times.
“Hundreds of Russian resources were bombed daily on the Web. The power of attacks has increased significantly, and the average duration of each of them in May reached 57 hours. For comparison, in February-March 2021, this figure did not exceed 12 minutes,” the head of the RKN said.
At the same time, he noted that the means used to repel attacks have shown their effectiveness. They helped to keep the resources of the authorities, the State Services portal, systemically important banks, the MIR and SBP systems, and the Russian media working.
