Roskomnadzor (RKN) named the reason for blocking some Internet resources in Russia. This was done in order to stop the spread of calls for participation in a military mutiny. Earlier, at the request of the RKN in VKontakte was blocked PMC “Wagner” community. The websites of RIA FAN, Narodnye Novosti and other resources of the Patriot media group were also blocked.
“A number of resources are being limited in order to prevent the spread of calls for participation in a military rebellion,” the regulator told Interfax. He recalled that earlier the FSB opened a criminal case under Art. 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “on the fact of organizing an armed rebellion.”
On June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner private military company, accused the Defense Ministry of hitting his company’s positions and said that 25,000 people were going to “deal with it.” After the statements of Mr. Prigozhin, the FSB on June 23 excited case of incitement to armed rebellion.
