Roskomnadzor confirmed the fact of a data leak from MTS Bank

Roskomnadzor (RKN) checked reports of a possible data leak of almost 1 million MTS Bank clients, a representative of the service told Vedomosti. According to its results, the fact of leakage of personal data (PD) was confirmed, the interlocutor says. RKN “has drawn up an administrative protocol on violation of the legislation on the protection of personal data, it will be submitted to court,” a representative of the department said on October 18.

At the beginning of September, the Telegram channel “Information Leaks” reported about a possible data leak of 1 million MTS Bank clients. According to his information, personal data such as full name, telephone numbers, dates of birth, tax identification number, citizenship, as well as partial bank card numbers were freely available.
