Roskomnadzor: 500 million records about Russians leaked online due to a major incident
Deputy head of Roskomnadzor Milos Wagner said that as a result of a major incident that occurred this year, 500 million records about Russians were leaked online.
He clarified that since the beginning of 2024, there have been 19 leaks, and more than 510 million records have become publicly available. Department officials are currently conducting an investigation.
“In 2023, Roskomnadzor recorded 168 leaks of personal data on 300 million records,” Wagner added.
According to him, in 2022, 600 million records about Russian residents were leaked online, and department specialists recorded more than 140 data leaks that year.
