Reports of a number of mass media about the allegedly impending commissioning of the Zaporizhzhya NPP in exchange for the free transit of Russian energy resources through Ukrainian territory do not correspond to reality. Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern, stated this.
According to Olga Kurlayeva, a correspondent for the Rossiya-24 TV channel, Karchaa said in a personal conversation that there were no signs of the concern leaving the station. Moreover, funds are now being invested in the modernization of ZNPP. The company is recruiting additional staff. 2,500 contracts have already been signed with the station workers.
Earlier it was reported that Russia was allegedly going to cede control of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to Ukraine or the IAEA as part of a deal for the transit of oil and gas. This information was broadcast by Ukrainian resources.
