The layout of the Russian orbital station of the second stage, developed by the Energia corporation subordinate to Roscosmos, was presented at the Army-2022 forum in Patriot Park. Orel, Soyuz and Progress ships were docked from the station on the model.

As the TASS correspondent clarifies, the station of the second stage also involves the presence in orbit of the target and production modules and the service platform (and not only the base, scientific and energy, nodal and gateway modules, as in the first stages). Conditions, terms and cost of the project have not yet been given.

In June, Energia already presented a project for an orbital station – then it was given the name “Russian Orbital Service Station” (ROSS). One of the features of the station was the condition for its creation in a high-latitude orbit with an inclination of 96-98 degrees (the inclination of the ISS orbit is 51.6 degrees). It was envisaged that the crew of the station would consist of two people.

July 26, the head of the state corporation “Roscosmos” Yuri Borisov announced Russia’s withdrawal from the ISS project after 2024. Later at Roskosmos explainedthat Russia can leave the ISS in 2025, and in 2028, and in 2030.
