According to Roscosmos, the Iranian Earth remote sensing satellite Pars-1 was launched into a given orbit in the interests of the Iranian Space Agency. It is designed for functional imaging, measurement data development, and development and testing of technologies needed for operational research.

The group of Russian satellites consists of 17 Russian civilian Sputniks satellites, among them 16 spacecraft of the SITRO-AIS automatic identification system group for tracking sea vessels and a spacecraft of the Zorki-2M Earth remote sensing group.

On January 28, for the first time in its space history, Iran launched three satellites – Mehda, Keyhan-2, Hatef-1 – into Earth orbit at altitudes from 450 km to 1.1 thousand km. The satellites were launched from a platform at the Imam Khomeini Space Center in Semnan province.
