The reason for the cancellation of the launch of the rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft with three cosmonauts was a voltage drop in the chemical current source, said the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov. The crew left the rocket and will continue preparations for launch. The launch has been postponed to March 23.
“At the final stage of pre-launch preparation, an emergency situation occurred. The entire procedure was interrupted. The reason has been identified. We just found out at a meeting of the State Commission that the cause was a voltage drop in the chemical current source,” Mr. Borisov told reporters (quoted from “Interfax”). He called the situation “quite understandable.” There are regulations and instructions for this case.
The crew went to remove their spacesuits. Quarantine and preparations for the start will continue.
On the afternoon of March 21 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome canceled launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-25 manned spacecraft. The crew includes Russian Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya and American Tracy Dyson. The launch was canceled automatically at the last moment before the start.
