The general director of the state corporation Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, said that the creation of a group of small satellites called “Griffin” has begun, which is designed to monitor the entire surface of the Earth, TASS reports.
According to Borisov, it is planned to place 136 satellites in orbit, which will provide information about any territory of Russia and the whole world with high intensity.
The head of Roscosmos also noted that the system will include a wide and in-depth ground network for receiving and processing information.
It was previously announced that the Russian company Reshetnev, part of the state corporation Roscosmos, plans to create 377 communications and navigation satellites between 2024 and 2030. The largest group will be “Marathon”. As part of the Sphere project, a communications constellation of 271 satellites will be created.
