IN Telegram channel Rosatom was informed that this morning in the closed room of workshop No. 53 of the Ural Electrochemical Plant, a depressurization of a cylinder with depleted uranium hexafluoride with a volume of 1 cubic meter occurred.
One person was reportedly injured in the incident. Currently, the incident is localized, there are no risks for the population.
“Now specialists are sanitizing the premises of the shop. The rest of the workshops continue to operate on a daily basis,” Rosatom noted.
The radiation background at the site amounted to 0.17 microvolts, which is fully consistent with natural values.
