Rosatom called the United States an example of the inefficiency of private nuclear energy

How reports Expert magazine, General Director of the Rosatom state corporation Alexey Likhachev said that modern nuclear energy is not capable of fully developing in the private sector.

According to him, the example of the United States, which exists at the expense of power units built many years ago and which have practically exhausted their resources, most clearly confirms this opinion.

“There is an example in the world of private ownership of nuclear power plants – the United States… This approach does not meet the modern challenges and tasks facing nuclear energy,” Likhachev said.

He added that efficiency in this area can only be achieved through consolidation of efforts.

“It is almost impossible to do without state support in the development of nuclear energy,” added the head of Rosatom.
