42-year-old former footballer of Zenit, Krasnodar, Spartak, CSKA and the Russian national team Roman Shirokov headed the Saturn football club (since July – Leon Saturn) from Ramenskoye near Moscow, for which he also played in 2005 .
As reported on the official website of the club, this happened after Oleg Kononov, without explaining the reasons, wrote a letter of resignation from the post of team coach.
Shirokov himself called the incident a complete surprise, but noted that he had a coaching license.
Previously, Shirokov served as the general director of the club. The team currently plays in the Second League.
